Recommended 'Moderate' Walk

The Tarmachan Ridge. Highest point Meall nan Tarmachan (1043m)

Nominated by Trail Magazine (June 2005 issue) as their number one walkers ridge, it is a fine introduction to ridge walking. On a good day the views are expansive, and on a less than good day the contorted shapes and feeling of airiness still feeds ones senses. Chance encounters with deer and other wildlife are a possibility. This area is famous in Scotland for Alpine plants, Moss Campion being particularly prolific.
