A Personal Checklist of Equipment To Get To Make Sure That You’re Covered

Mountains and weather are inseparable partners. Your clothing must provide comfort, warmth and shelter from the elements, no matter what Bonnie Scotland throws at you. Smart adventurers like you and I know that comfort doesn't have to be a luxury. You can easily control your body temperature by layering your clothes.

Here's a list of equipment for a days mountain walking. It's not exhaustive but it's the absolute basics.

Rucksack
Waterproof trousers and jacket
Emergency bivouac bag
Map
Compass
Torch plus spare battery and bulb
Whistle
Hat and gloves
Spare warm layer
Food and drink
Personal first aid and medication
Sunglasses
Sun cream
Gaiters (optional)

Just for you information, the group as a whole needs a few more crucial pieces of equipment, but you can leave these to me.

I'll supply:

Group first aid kit
Group shelter
Confidence rope (only for mountainous terrain)
Mobile phone
